This beautiful white sheep sculpture has been handmade in Rogart in the Highlands of Scotland by artist Mairi Hedges. Each has been made entirely from foraged materials on Mairi’s own croft and comes with its own handwritten story included below…
“Small Betty is made from wool and willow, that is all. The wool is from Betty. Betty was a triplet, whose Ma could only ever count to 2, despite producing 3 lambs every year. Betty, in her nine years, has always had 1 girl lamb, except for once when she accidentally had twisna dn onr was a boy. The wool is washed, carded, and spun by me. The willow is grown here on the croft, too.”
