This beautiful (40cm H x 59cm L) sculpture has been handmade in Rogart in the Highlands of Scotland by artist Mairi Hedges. Each has been made entirely from foraged materials on Mairi’s own croft and comes with its own handwritten story included below…
“Grey fleecy sheep is made from wool and willow. That is all. The fleece is a mixture of wool from myown sheep (the body and the head) and some wool from a neighbour (the locks on the top). The needle-felted body has cloud patterns (we have a lot of sky here, and the weather is often a priority). The willow is grown here too. The locks came from a Blackface cross ewe from another croft. She is the only black sheep in that flock.”
